Feist Still Making Plays

Langham Creek QB Connor Feist

FOX Sports NEXT is in the streets this fall to bring you all the coverage from across the Midlands region. Recently, we caught up with Langham Creek quarterback Connor Feist from Houston, Texas. He talked about his solid game performance and about a call he got last week that has him smiling…

For years he has put up big numbers. And 2012 is no different.

In a 37-21 win over rival Cy Ridge, Houston (TX) Langham Creek quarterback Connor Feist was on point in every way possible. This brings up the question that Feist has been answered for years now, "What programs have offered you?"

"No offers yet, but plenty of programs are still interested. SE Louisiana, UT-San Antonio and UTEP told me I was there top quarterback prospect for the class of 2013," Feist said.

In the win, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound Feist was 19-of-25 for 209 yards, two touchdowns to one interception. On the year he has throw for over 2,700 yards and 21 touchdowns.

But within all of the numbers and the placement on a number of boards at several programs, Feist got a call from a Big 12 Conference school that has him confident that some good news will eventually come.

"TCU called me last week and said that I am one of four quarterbacks they are recruiting. They will probably be down this week for the next game or the first playoff game," Feist said. "They haven't offered any quarterbacks yet so I'm pretty excited. You know, right now, I'm just ballin; for a scholarship."

Personally that is the case, but the three-year starter is more of a team guy. He puts in the work off the field to make sure and handle business on it. In the recent win, Feist spoke on the preparations that went into his performance that showed a 75-percent completion rating.

"During the week, coach and I sat down and dissected this defense. We want to see where we wanted to attack it," Feist said. "That's what we did, but coach tells me that there is always room for improvement. So we are going to get back to the drawing board and get ready for Cy Lakes.

"This was definitely a big game, but we still have one game left. And even though Cy Lakes has not had a successful year, we still have one more and we can't let that one pass us up. But not taking anything away from this game because it was a great team effort."
