, had another great night as he completed 21-of-32 passing for 296 yards and three touchdowns including the game winner to Jeff Moturi with 4:22 left in the game.
The Miners started the season 0-3, but have suddenly found themselves winning 3 straight games and are now .500 for the season.
UTEP
is now 3-3 overall and 3-0 in Conference USA.
UTEP's defense had a hard time once again stopping the run against
Tulane
. The Green Wave's running back
Andre Anderson
, rushed for 255 yards on 29 carries. However, while Tulane took a 21-14 lead into halftime, the Miners' defense was able to stop Tulane's offense several times in the second half, which led to 0 points for the Green Wave in the last half of the game. These key defensive stops were very crucial for the Miners as the offense was able to come back from behind and win the game in the fourth quarter.
The Miners' offense performed well but committed several mistakes also. UTEP's wide receivers had several drops during the game, but they did have a decent night, with Jeff Moturi leading the pack with 4 catches for 88 yards and one touchdown. Sophomore running back
Donald Buckram
had a nice night as he rushed the ball 20 times for 107 yards.
UTEP (3-3, 3-0 C-USA) will now head to the state of Oklahoma for a showdown next week against the undefeated
Tulsa
Golden Hurricane (6-0), in what looks to be another classic game for first place in Conference USA's West Division.
