UTEP takes care of Georgia Southern

Randy Culpepper, Stefon Jackson, and Kareem Cooper all had double digit scores Tuesday night to lead UTEP to a 96-79 win over the Eagles of Georgia Southern.

Despite being led by 8 points in the first quarter, and having a 2 point deficit at the half, the Miners came back to win 96-79 against a tough Georgia Southern team. The Miners now improve to 2-0.

Sophomore Randy Culpepper, led the Miners in scoring with 35 points. Senior and team captain Stefon Jackson had a great night as well, scoring 26 points. Kareem Cooper got into double digits also by hitting 4-5 from the field and 6-8 from the free throw line for 14 points.

Sophomore guard Julyan Stone led the team in assists with 11. Freshman forward Arnett Moultrie had a good night on the boards, leading the way for the Miners with 10 rebounds.

UTEP will play UNLV from the Mountain West Conference on Monday night at the Don Haskins Center.
